Hito is my new favorite place in Las Palmas - I can't believe its taken me 4 years to eat here!! Absolutely outstanding restaurant that delivers top-quality food and excellent service. Every dish is beautifully prepared, fresh, and full of flavor - especially the sushi and sashimi, which are among the best in Las Palmas. My personal favorites were the gyozas, the tuna tartar dish (Maguro No Tarutaru I believe) and the Hot Sushi Volcano Roll - so delicate and tasty and just amazing!! The menu has a refined balance of Japanese and modern influences, showing real attention to detail and care in the ingredients. The atmosphere is calm and elegant, and the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates great food and a polished dining experience. I will definitely be returning often!

Excellent sushi restaurant near Las Canteras beach. We did get a table without a reservation at lunch time. Service was friendly and professional. Dishes were from excellent to good as it is usual in any excellent level restaurants because tastes differ. We will visit again whenever we are around! Itadakimasu!

We ordered the variety sushi platter with 30+ pieces which was well worth it, lots of variety. Each piece tasted different. Presentation was beautiful too. Only mistake was not knowing we could order a larger portion of sake for a much better price; we ordered a small then a medium, should havwe just ordered the large. Dessert (friend ice cream) was the cherry on top! We reserved via messenger so no wait.

Very nice sushi, we had a lovely visit! Bit expensive though (for example for almost 10 euro for a wakame salad as a starter..?). But for sushi with good and fresh taste and just the right amount of rice, it was allright price. One small minus comes from the wasabi, it was not that strong as it should be.

Unfortunately, while the price is quite high, the sushi is far from the best. Several times our sushi was served burned (with blackened rice), and the rice itself was not properly cooked / pressed. On top of that, the so-called Japanese welcome felt just as inauthentic as the sushi.

Excellent Japanese food. I was impressed the first couple of times I came here some years ago, and my expectations were exceeded once again when we recently decided to make a new visit. Our favorite this time was the New Maduro Roll with tuna tartar, but everything was great, including the incredibly tasty mochi for desert. In the past I've also had some excellent tuna tataki here. Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Absolutely superb food, service, and ambiance. The menu includes a variety of traditional Japanese and fusion dishes. We had the mixed tempura, gyoza two style salmon sliced thinly, ikura, the spicey tuna with avocado roll, and all were delicious. We'd also highly recommend the ice cream tempura for desert. The service was friendly and excellent .

If I only could use one word to describe Hito, it would be OVERPRICED. The food was good. The quality was good. Still, I find the price wasn't justifiable. You can get similar quality at more reasonable prices in Fuji. You can get decent quality and quantity in Genxi Sushi. Ok, the sushi is the right size, you can put the whole piece in your mouth, but there could be more pieces per portion, couldn't there? We didn't have neither wine nor coffee nor dessert, and neither did we have toro and still, the bill was €40 per person. And we weren't stuffing ourselves. The Pad Thai was a disappointment. It came with too much liquid (this isn't a soupy dish!) and the peanuts weren't crushed. The taste wasn't too bad, but it's a far cry from being authentic and certainly, there wasn't anything authentic about the price! Especially when considering that this is originally a humble peasant dish! Sadly to say, this won't be a place I'd be rushing back anytime soon.

By far the best sushi in las palmas. Fresh fish and you are told exactly where the tuna comes from. They are in a partnership with a tuna company that sources tuna in a humane way and tracks your fish throughout the whole process. Definitely come here. As an asian I am quite picky with Japanese food. But Hito has exceeded my expectation. They use the fresh ingredients for their sushi and sashimi, and they also have creative menus such as apple gyozas and paper rolls. The cuisine there can be categorised as japanese but also european fusion. I'd go there again for the quality and variety.

After several years away, we returned to Restaurante Hito and loved it just as much as the first time. We hadn't stopped going for any particular reason; it had simply been a while since our last visit, and returning was a great decision. The food was absolutely delicious, flavorful, and authentic. We ordered quite a few dishes, even requesting several ingredient variations, and the waitress was incredible: she managed to memorize everything without writing anything down, and there wasn't a single mistake. The staff was very friendly and attentive throughout the entire meal. The atmosphere is also very pleasant. It's located on a side street off Las Canteras Avenue, in a quiet area, and although we dined in the covered section, it was very comfortable. We will definitely be back much sooner this time.

I've experienced the magic of this restaurant about four times throughout its history as a temple of Japanese gastronomy. The quality has remained consistent all these years, but this last time the service was somewhat slow and confusing. We noticed too many takeout orders and a lack of attention to the diners in the dining room. There was slowness and they forgot about dishes we ordered. Losing the essence and neglecting what's important diminishes quality.

The nigiri were the best part of the whole meal: the shiromi, toro, hotate with truffle, and sakana were spectacular, very fresh, and incredibly flavorful. We also ordered the Tuna Crunchy Roll and the Sake Ebi Roll, which were very good. One thing I loved was that the wasabi and ginger were natural, none of that artificial green supermarket paste. You can really taste the difference. The atmosphere is very well done and has a bit of a Japanese feel, and the waiters were super friendly at all times. The menu also has interesting details about eating sushi and Japanese culture, which is cool. The only downside is that the menu states that the IGIC (Canary Islands General Indirect Tax) is not included, which I think is even illegal, and it's not mentioned on the daily specials menu either. There are also some discrepancies in prices between the menus, which makes me a bit uneasy and added about €5 to the bill.

The best value sushi in the Canary Islands, the salmon tartare is spectacular, the seared scallop nigiri is a 10/10, and the netto roll is definitely worth ordering again. Congratulations on your work and the quality of your products. I'm not giving the ambiance another 5 stars because, unfortunately, the noise from the restaurant across the street somewhat ruins the experience. Perhaps you should consider improving the soundproofing in the dining area.

The best sushi in Gran Canaria. We've tried most of their sushi menu over the last two years, and they consistently maintain a very high level of excellence in presentation, taste, and the quality of their ingredients (nigiri, sashimi, futomaki, etc.). Since the pandemic, we've always ordered delivery, and they've kept up their high standards. Yesterday, we picked up our order at their restaurant, where they served us with the same friendly and attentive service as always. They even gave us several pieces free of charge after a mix-up with our order, a thoughtful touch that speaks volumes about their commitment to quality. We highly recommend eating here; it's a true delight for the senses.

I went to the restaurant with little to no conviction: what a mistake! I've been delighted every time I've been. The ingredients are excellent, and the culinary ideas are equally impressive. The service is equally fantastic and not at all intrusive. Finally, the atmosphere is peaceful and quiet. I've been back and will continue to return. I don't recall if they have a list of restrictions for people with allergies and intolerances posted. It's very important to be aware of them. A follow-up clarification regarding allergies: I went again, and when we ordered a special dish, the chef (Oliver) asked if we had any allergies, so they should definitely take them into account. 02/08/23 I returned tonight. It continues to be a superb option. Don't miss it. On subsequent visits (the last one, 30/08/23), the level of quality remains high. Excellent!

It used to be my favorite Japanese restaurant, but I think it's gone downhill a bit. The wakame salad was the typical frozen seaweed kind; there wasn't a trace of actual wakame. The sashimi (salmon, shrimp stuffed with flying fish roe, scallops, tuna, fatty tuna, and seared white fish) was all delicious, and the garnishes and daikon radish garnish were nice. The vegetable tempura, probably made with rice noodles, seemed to be bulked up considerably. The tempura itself was crispy, but the batter lacked flavor, and the tempura sauce wasn't sweet enough for me. I ordered rice as a side dish, but it was hard and dry, and it got worse and worse over time. The rice in the cucumber rolls and nigiri sushi was delicious, unlike the side dishes. I asked about the type of sake, but they only said sake, so I wish they had explained it a little more.

A highly acclaimed Japanese restaurant in Gran Canaria, and deservedly so. As you can see from the photos, they have a very extensive menu, with a particularly impressive variety of sushi. Since it was our first time, that's what we went to try, and it didn't disappoint. Besides the tuna tartare (in my top 3 on the island), we sampled a wide variety of sushi, especially the hot sushi reef roll and the uramaki netto roll. The quality is undeniable, although the prices are a bit high. However, it's highly recommended for a special occasion. For a sweet treat, the dorayaki is delicious and a different kind of dessert than what you usually find in other restaurants. It's definitely worth trying. We'll be back.

A small, secluded place on a side street off Cantera. The decor is simple, but with a distinct Japanese feel. The dishes are presented simply, without any ostentation. But the quality pleasantly surprised me. Typical Japanese portions, with nigiri made more of fish than rice. Sashimi is generous, with excellent cuts (including a fatty, juicy tuna belly). The miso is good, and the tempura is excellent, crispy and light. The prices, while not low, are a reflection of the clearly high-quality ingredients, not least the wasabi made with real wasabi root... I'm told. The Japanese beer list needs to be expanded (Sapporo, for example, is missing).

Excellent sushi in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, just steps from Las Canteras beach. Everything is delicious and of exceptional quality. The only thing that could be improved is the ambiance and decor! Definitely worth repeating!

Excellent cuisine, with quite innovative and tasty dishes. The restaurant itself is decent, although it could use a facelift soon. The staff is superb and very attentive. All in all, one of the best Japanese restaurants in the city.

"It's our go-to place; we return whenever we can, and it never disappoints. What makes this place special, beyond the food, is the personal touch: everyone greets you at once when you walk in. The two women who always serve us, besides their excellent recommendations and outstanding professionalism, make you feel right at home from the moment you enter, as does all the staff. Watching the itamae (master chefs) work is a spectacle, and the quality of the ingredients is unbeatable. Thank you for treating us so well and always leaving us with a great feeling. Highly recommended!"

The food and service were spectacular. We tried mostly sushi, and also some gyoza. From the sushi, I highly recommend the "Nigiri hotate truffle" - it was simply divine.

The dinner was delicious, the service was top-notch, and they were very kind to serve us even though they were 30 minutes away from closing time. We loved all the dishes.

Excellent sushi 🍣 and sashimi. Good atmosphere, very attentive staff, superb quality for a Japanese restaurant without a Japanese chef.

The best Japanese in Las Palmas, it's not cheap but it's absolutely worth it, the Nigiri Toro is a unique delicacy
